The Wishlist app does exactly that and is very easy to maintain. It even has other great features such as restock notifications. It does its job for the customers as far as having a venue to store a list of products they hope to purchase at some point, BUT...many of our customers are requesting that their wishlist were sharable for occasions such as birthdays.
